Officially chartered in 1870 as a private, coeducational institution offering programs in the physical sciences and modern languages. Syracuse, located in the heart of Central New York, is within easy driving distance of Toronto, Boston, Montreal, and New York City. The total University enrollment for fall 2013 is 21,267. Full-time undergraduate enrollment, 14,422; part-time undergraduate enrollment, 675; full-time graduate and law school enrollment, 4,670; part-time graduate and law school enrollment, 1,500.
