The University have one of the best teaching quality ratings in the UK and a strong research record, factors which contribute to our reputation as a leading post-1992 university.

University of Brighton performance in a range of external assessments of teaching quality is consistently strong. The School of Education has maintained its position as one of the leading institutions in the country for Initial Teacher Training, according to results published last month (Feb 2014) by Ofsted. The School of Education and the School of Sport and Service Management remain ‘Category A’ providers for teacher education, and have been given the highest possible rating – outstanding – for all aspects of its primary and secondary initial teacher education provision.
