Cultural experience the big driver of study abroad for Generation Z
Here are the highlights:
- A new global survey finds that younger students, those between 13 and 18-years-old, are mainly motivated to study abroad by an interest in cultural exploration
- These students are strongly led in their study abroad planning by their interest in a given country destination
- This is tempered by concerns about safety and security as well as social adaptation
The following chart shows a broad segmentation of all AFS survey respondents, and illustrates the emphasis that 13-to-18-year-olds place on cultural exploration.
